A Meal and a Betrayal

On Thursday, Jesus shared a final meal with his disciples, now known as the Last Supper. He washed their feet as a sign of humble love (John 13:3-5) and gave them the gift of Communion, telling them to remember him through bread and wine (Luke 22:19-20). That night, he was betrayed by one of his own and arrested (Matthew 26:47-50). You might also hear the term "Maundy" Thursday. The word "Maundy" derives from the latin word mandatum, which means commandment. When Jesus humbled himself to wash the feet of his friends, he commanded us to love one another and go and do the same for others. You're invited to observe this day with us with a gathering in our sanctuary starting at 7:00pm
