Lent is a season of preparation for Easter that lasts for 40 days, not counting Sundays, that spans from Ash Wednesday until Easter each year. It can be described as a sobering season for "lamenting," focusing on honest reflection of our mortality and failings and also the grace found in human brokenness. It's a journey to face the "dust" of life while embracing the "already-but-not-yet" hope of the resurrection of Jesus.
